TB-500

Thymosin Beta-4 Fragment

A thymosin beta-4 fragment studied in animals for tissue repair

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide fragment of the naturally occurring protein thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4): an acetylated copy of 7 of its 43 amino acids (residues 17-23). Full-length Tβ4 is studied for tissue repair, cell migration, and blood vessel formation, mostly in animals. As of October 2026, FDA says it has found no human exposure data for the TB-500 fragment.

Key Benefits

Studied for tissue repair in animals, mostly using full thymosin beta-4
Less scar tissue in animal studies of the full protein; flexibility untested
Faster wound healing reported in rodent studies
Lower inflammation in animal studies of full Tβ4; chronic pain not studied
Hair growth reported in rodents given topical thymosin beta-4
Less heart damage after induced heart attacks in animals (full protein)
Muscle recovery after exercise (user reports; not studied)
Endurance and stamina (vendor claim; not studied)

Mechanism of Action

In cell and animal studies of full-length thymosin beta-4, the protein binds actin, which is essential for cell structure and movement, and is linked to cell migration and angiogenesis. TB-500 copies the actin-binding region, which those studies tie to blood vessel and hair follicle growth. The anti-inflammatory and anti-scarring effects reported for Tβ4 map to a different region that TB-500 lacks. None of this has been measured in people.

Dosing Guidelines

Typical Dose

2-2.5 mg

Frequency

2x weekly

Duration

4-6 weeks loading, then maintenance

Note: Vendor guidance describes a loading phase of 2x/week for 4-6 weeks, followed by monthly maintenance doses. No human dose has been tested for the TB-500 fragment. Users on peptide forums describe 2-5 mg twice weekly, or 0.5-2 mg daily or every other day, injected subcutaneously or intramuscularly.

Potential Side Effects

Reported side effects may include:

  • - No human safety data for the fragment (FDA); full Tβ4 was well tolerated in small trials
  • - Temporary fatigue or low mood early on (user reports, often with BPC-157)
  • - Head rush immediately after injection (vendor lists)
  • - Mild injection-site irritation (vendor and user reports)
  • - Flu-like symptoms at first (vendor lists; not traced to a study)

Popular Stacking Options

TB-500 + BPC-157

Users call this the 'Wolverine Stack', and vendors market it as combining TB-500's systemic effects with BPC-157's targeted repair. No controlled study has tested the combination.

TB-500 + GHK-Cu

Some users pair the two for collagen, skin and tissue remodeling goals. Both have animal wound-healing data, but they haven't been studied together.

TB-500 + Ipamorelin/CJC-1295

Some users add growth hormone stimulation, aiming for better overall recovery. The combination hasn't been studied.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between TB-500 and Thymosin Beta-4?

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide fragment that copies the actin-binding region of the naturally occurring thymosin beta-4. Vendors say it offers similar benefits and is more stable and accessible for research purposes, but we found no study comparing the two, and human trials of full Tβ4 don't apply to the fragment. As of October 2026, WADA bans TB-500 at all times (S2.3).

How quickly does TB-500 work?

No human study has measured this. Vendor and community guides commonly claim initial effects within 1-2 weeks and more over 4-6 weeks, but we couldn't trace these timelines to a study. The idea that a loading phase builds 'tissue saturation' comes from vendor guidance and hasn't been tested.

Can TB-500 help with old injuries?

No human study has tested it on old injuries. The claim rests on user reports and on animal studies of full thymosin beta-4 showing tissue remodeling and less scar tissue, effects that map to a part of the protein TB-500 doesn't contain.

Where should TB-500 be injected?

Users commonly report subcutaneous injection in the abdomen, and some inject intramuscularly. Vendors say TB-500 works systemically, so it doesn't need to be injected near the injury site, but no human study has measured how the fragment is absorbed or compared injection sites.
